Overview
The Senior Wholesale Energy Systems Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing, optimizing, and managing energy systems to support trading and risk management activities relying on high level of understanding of trading and risk management practices.
In this role, you will be involved with the following:
Advanced System Analysis and Support:
Lead the analysis and support of energy systems to ensure they meet complex business requirements and operate efficiently
Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for energy systems
Strategic Data Management:
Oversee the management and maintenance of system reference data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Develop and execute sophisticated data migration and transformation processes
Integration and Development Leadership:
Lead the development and maintenance of integrations between energy systems and other business applications
Implement and oversee system enhancements and upgrades to improve functionality and performance
Collaboration and Documentation:
Work closely with senior business analysts, traders, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and technical specifications
Risk Management and Compliance:
Monitor and report on market conditions and trends to support advanced risk management strategies
Ensure compliance with energy trading regulations and standards
To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience: 7+ years
Extensive experience in developing, configuring and supporting Energy Trading and risk management systems (ETRM) and Distributed Energy Resource Mgmt Systems (DERMS), preferably within the ERCOT, PJM, NYISO and ISONE markets
Experience supporting Renewable Energy Credit (RECs) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
Experience leading qualified scheduling entity (QSE) services for ERCOT and/or market participant services in PJM and NYISO
Business Domain Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively with Traders, Risk Managers, and Schedulers.
Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyze complex problems, break them down into manageable components, and derive meaningful insights to support decision-making processes.
Strategic Mindset: A forward-thinking approach to aligning business objectives with technology solutions, anticipating future challenges.
Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas, requirements, and recommendations clearly and persuasively.
