Overview
The Pricing Analyst is a mid-level position responsible for conducting more complex pricing analysis and contributing to the formulation of pricing strategies for electricity supply products. The role involves working independently on pricing projects, interpreting market data, and making actionable recommendations to improve competitiveness. The Pricing Analyst II will collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure that pricing strategies are competitive and aligned with business objectives.
In this role, you will be involved with the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive pricing analysis, focusing on energy market trends, customer behavior, competitor pricing, and regulatory developments.
- Pricing Model Development: Develop and maintain advanced pricing models to determine optimal pricing strategies for different customer segments and product offerings.
- Strategic Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations based on analysis to management, highlighting areas for improvement and price optimization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to integrate pricing strategies with business objectives and support the implementation of price changes.
- Advanced Pricing Reports & Optimization Prepare detailed pricing reports, forecasts, and margin analysis while providing recommendations on optimizing margin.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to the pricing process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely updates to pricing models.
- Complex Deal Entry: Ability to prepare and manually adjust ETRM files for complex products and deal entry.
- Large Retail Customer Analysis Threshold: up to12,000 MWh of Annual Load without requiring Pricing Analyst II/SR Pricing Analyst approval.
To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in pricing analysis, financial modeling, or related fields, with a strong understanding of energy markets.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling), and familiarity with analytical tools like Power BI, SQL, or Python.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify pricing opportunities and areas for optimization.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while managing independent projects and deadlines.
