This role is based in our Sydney office with Hybrid working arrangement.
Role Purpose
The Marketing Executive is responsible for creating relevant and timely content and delivering against corporate marketing campaigns and initiatives that continue to strengthen our brand reputation in the market and delivery against overall objectives.
In this role, content creation and campaign delivery are a key focus. The Marketing Executive maintains and delivers against the content schedule for the Australian business, factoring in corporate strategic marketing initiatives and brand deliverables alongside regular digital content outputs, always looking for ways to innovate and differentiate across channels and audience segments.
Working with the wider team, the Marketing Executive delivers customer communications, events (both in-person and virtual) and supports with the creation and upkeep of sales and product collateral.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a steady flow of digital content outputs such as, blogs and newsletter articles, videos and social media posts. Managing the end to-end editorial process from ideation to reviews and approvals.
- Create key marketing assets (e.g. reports and guides) and targeted campaign content to support lead generation and targeted email nurture campaigns.
- Seek out relevant content opportunities spanning events, podcasts and webinars for subject matter experts, preparing briefing notes, presentations and coordinating event logistics
- Develop and maintain our sales collateral and website content that frames our offering in the market and positions us for success.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Global Senior Marketing Manager to support corporate brand messaging developments to ensure the narrative and proof points resonate for the local Australian market.
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of corporate reports, including the global annual report and sustainability report, leading on copy writing, reviews and feedback and final approvals from stakeholders.
- Contribute to the delivery of the annual marketing plan with the marketing team to ensure the retail sales and trading teams strategic goals and targets are supported.
- Within the business, establish a network of subject matter experts and spokespeople to input into, participate in and approve content.
- Manage the relationship with our PR agency to maximise PR and case study opportunities, writing press releases, sourcing comments from subject matter experts and facilitating joint PR activities for customers and partners, through to publishing media releases on the SmartestEnergy website(s) and social media channels.
- Maintain and upkeep our social media channels, delivering related B2B digital marketing content to ensure relevant, insightful, and engaging content reaches our followers.
- Maintain marketing resources and localised intranet content for employees across the Australian business and the wider group, and as requested support with any global internal communications initiatives.
Performance Indicators:
Success will be measured against departmental objectives and KPls for the financial year, which includes delivery of outputs against plans, alignment and contribution to engagement metrics and overall adoption and maintenance of the brand.
Experience:
- Experience in copywriting for complex sectors like finance or energy, including blogs, newsletters, reports, and marketing materials
- Design skills (Canva, Photoshop, lnDesign)
- Project management (running of campaigns, marketing projects)
- Use of website content management systems (CMS)
- Use of customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing automation tools, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- 2+ years' experience in a marketing role
- Energy industry experience (preferred but not essential)
Knowledge:
- Digital marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO) and lead generation expertise
- Campaign planning and execution
- Energy industry knowledge (preferred but not essential)
