Senior Derivative Reporting Accountant

We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Derivative Reporting Accountant to step into a newly created, high-visibility role reporting directly to the UK Financial Controller.
As the subject matter expert for all derivative accounting and reporting activities, you will own the process for retail, generation, and wholesale power contracts—driving accuracy in monthly management accounts, quarterly shareholder reports, and year-end statutory disclosures. This role offers an opportunity to partner cross-functionally with key teams including Risk, Trading, Renewable Certificates, and Commercial Finance, while playing a critical part in regulatory compliance, audit support, and enhancing our reporting processes. What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Qualified ACA (or equivalent) with experience of working as a derivative accountant/leading on derivative reporting in the energy/utilities/oil and gas sector;
- Comprehensive expertise in applying IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 9 and IFRS 13;
- Supported the audit process wrt derivatives audit and disclosures;
- Understanding of overall trade deal lifecycle;
- Proficiency in financial reporting software and tools, including automation software, e.g. Alteryx, Workday.
