German Market Originator - Energy Trading
Our Trading Team continues to grow and we are now looking for a talented, ambitious Originator with strong knowledge of the German market.
You will be responsible for the origination and execution of non-standard energy trading transactions in German Power, Gas & Environmental Commodities markets, as well as supporting origination and market entry activities in other European geographies.
How will I spend my time in this role?
- Originate bespoke energy trading services agreement with large industrials, generators, energy retailers and other third-party participants in the German energy market;
- Structure linear and non-linear transactions with wholesale counterparties and asset operators in the German market, including IPPS, BESS operators, Pipeline Operators, Gas Storage Operators, Gas Producers etc;
- Maintain a network of contacts in the industry in Germany and cultivate a pipeline of potential transactions of each type;
- Keep updated of market participants, regulatory changes and trends in the German markets and use this to formulate and develop new origination strategies;
- Work closely with colleagues in risk, regulation and legal on new bespoke transactions;
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Extensive experience of wholesale energy markets and trading gained through a front office position at a utility, energy trading house, bank or similar institution;
- Extensive client network in the German power and gas markets;
- Track record of successfully transacting structured energy products;
- Experience of the full deal life cycle - originating, structuring and executing.
