Pricing Analyst
You will be responsible for modelling and pricing the full cost stack for SmartestEnergy’s retail and generation contracts, as well as undertaking operational pricing activities to support the business.
The role will also include ad-hoc risk premium modelling, in combination with quantitative analysis support in the wider department, as well as running the daily operations to meet the teams’ objectives
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Numerical / analytical experience, ideally with some statistical modelling experience;
- Applied experience of programming languages for data analysis (e.g. Python or R);
- Some exposure to SQL databases would be beneficial.
How will I spend my time in this role?
- Analysis and modelling of wholesale and non-energy costs, and to understand variances at outturn;
- Pricing of risk premiums included within supply and PPA contracts, in combination with the Quantitative Research team;
- Communicating non-energy cost developments to the wider business as well as customers through webinars;
- Producing reports using data visualization software (PowerBI);
- Understand the impact of future regulatory change and accurately reflect in future pricing;
- Providing support on operational activities to the wider business, including Sales, Trading, Operations, Risk & Finance;
- Supporting the deployment of a new pricing service as part of a wider business transformation project;
- Supporting the development and maintenance of SmartestEnergy’s in-house PPA Pricing service;
- Producing business insights for the wider department;
- Ensure that information security policies and procedures are adhered to.

What does hybrid working mean to us?
Hybrid working typically means 2 days in the office location listed on this advert and 3 days working at home each week. Some occasional travel to our other offices may be required.
