Business Intelligence Analyst FTC
As a lead in our analytical and business intelligence efforts in Operations, you'll drive business performance, minimize risks, and deliver insights that add value to our projects. Your role is crucial in promoting a data-first approach, sharing best practices, and educating users on the strategic value of data.
You'll identify operational efficiencies, optimize workload planning, and assess financial impacts on the P&L, ensuring all tasks align with our business goals. This role is key to embedding data-driven decision-making into our operational strategy and driving purposeful growth.
Please note this role is FTC until 31/03/2027
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Proven expertise in delivering business performance insights using SQL, Power BI, and advanced Excel skills;
- Skilled in writing scalable Python code for back-end development, third-party integration, and process automation;
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft's tech stack, including both traditional and Azure-based databases and analytics tools;
- Solid background in defining and delivering business performance information that can be used to derive key business insights.
How will I spend my time in this role?
- Working closely with stakeholders across each business category to make smarter decisions through the analysis of commercial data, working to improve accuracy, speed of delivery and effectiveness through changes and implementations of processes and systems;
- Presenting information back to senior stakeholders so that they understand how to be more successful in their roles based on analytics that your function will provide;
- Identifying data quality issues and initiating rectification with the most appropriate solution coordinating with wider change team where required;
- Understanding development, reports, and dashboards so as to be in a better position to interpret requirements from the business;
- Identify data owners of source information with origination and authoritative sources, capture known data quality issues and document business transformation rules;
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria and metrics;
- Work with stakeholders to prioritise collected requirements;
- Analyse and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards;
- Develop and utilise standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications;
- Ability to interpret industry data to ensure best practices and ways of working within the Metering and Settlements team to manage workloads.
