Trading Settlements Analyst

An exciting opportunity to join the Trading Settlements function within a growing energy business.
You will work closely with the Head of Trading Settlements and Senior Trading Settlements Analyst, contributing to best practice back-office support for Smartest’s Trading and Origination activities.
How will I spend my time in this role?
Revenue Assurance
- Reconciliation of SEL’s settlement position versus Elexon;
- Verification of non-energy pricing elements versus expectation. These include but are not limited to BSUoS, RCRC, Hydro, CFD, DUoS, Capacity Market;
- Verification of Brokerage costs;
- Raise verification discrepancies with counterparties, seeing them through to resolution;
- Assist with the quarterly forecast for Elexon for credit with Trading / Optimisation and Pricing;
Invoicing & Settlement
- Invoicing of trading, independent energy supply and origination business segments within contractual timelines;
- Receivable Management: Manage receivables, including cash application and debt management;
- Identification and management of settlement disputes;
- Assist with the raising and resolution of settlements issues;
- Administer counterparty information, ensuring that their billing and settlements information is in line and up to date, with support from other support functions as required;
Other
Any additional responsibilities as required by the Head of Trading Settlements.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Experience of settling non-energy commodities;
- Experience of debt management processes;
- Experience working with imbalance settlements processes either with a commodities / energy company or BSCCo;
- Knowledge of trading and/or energy supply.

Hybrid working typically means 2 days in the office location listed on this advert and 3 days working at home each week. Some occasional travel to our other offices may be required.
